Lirik Lagu We Will Not Go Down Karya Michael Heart, Karya yang Gambarkan Tragedi Peperangan di Palestina

SURABAYA – We Will Not Go Down (Song For Gaza), lagu ini makin sering terdengar di tengah serangan pasukan Israel terhadap Palestina yang bertubi-tubi.

Lagu ini diciptakan oleh musisi bernama Michael Heart pada tahun 2009, sebagai bentuk simpatinya atas tragedi pembantaian Israel terhadap warga Gaza dari akhir Desember 2008 hingga Januari 2009. 

Melansir michaelheart.com, lagu ini dia sediakan secara gratis untuk diunduh dari situs pribadinya. Namun, dia menyarankan dalam situsnya untuk memberikan donasi untuk Gaza melalui United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.

Hingga 9 Februari 2009, We Will Not Go Down telah di-view hingga 1.021.000 kali di YouTube, mp3-nya diunduh sebanyak 325.000 kali, dan telah mendapatkan email respons sebanyak 10.000 email, komentar dan pesan.

Seperti halnya 12 tahun lalu, saat Michael Heart menciptakan lagu We Will Not Go Down. Peristiwa serupa  juga terjadi hari ini.

Serangan intens masih terus dilakukan Israel kepada Palestina dan belum menunjukkan tanda-tanda berhenti.  Ratusan warga sipil menjadi korban. Banyak di antaranya para wanita dan anak-anak.
